The EANS employs a team of professional staff, who are responsible for the day to day running of the organisation. Whilst some members of our team are directly employed by the EANS, others are self-employed and provide their services on a consultancy basis.


The Associate Executive Director, Liz Derow (UK), working closely with the Board, is responsible (in the absence of an Executive Director) for all aspects of the Association's day-to-day activities. Her particular areas of focus include communications, strategy, the Congress, marketing and promotion, and fundraising.

Petra KoubovaThe Administration Manager, Petra Koubova (CZ) is responsible for the day to day administration of the EANS, including liaison with EANS member societies, administration of all Fellowship/Award programmes, VAT related issues and maintenance and further development of our database. She is also responsible for co-ordinating the scientific programme and faculty on our educational courses and events as well as for organization of the European Board Examination in Neurological Surgery.

Amy Pinchbeck-Smith The Marketing & Media Designer, Amy Pinchbeck-Smith (UK) is responsible for the design of the EANS website and all other EANS marketing and promotional materials. Working alongside the Exectuvie Director and Liz she helps to devise and implement our communications and marketing strategy.

Lucinda FosterThe Membership Secretary, Lucinda Foster (UK) is responsible for liaison with EANS individual members as well as for a number of other administrative functions, primarily the efficient maintenance of our database.

The Events Co-ordinator, Visi Navarro (ES) is responsible for the organisation and preparation both of the European Neurosurgical Training Courses and of our other educational courses and events (Research course, Spine course, HandsOn courses etc.) as well as for day to day liaison with our PCO in respect of our Annual Meetings and Congresses.
