EANS-AANS 2020 Neurosurgical Resident Exchange Program

Applications are now closed.

The EANS is pleased to collaborate with the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS) and the Neurosurgery Research and Education Foundation (NREF) to provide residents the opportunity to further their neurosurgical knowledge and forge new friendships.

In this context, six selected neurosurgical residents by EANS will have the opportunity to participate in the 2020 Neurosurgical Resident Exchange Program (#2020NREP) which will include a complimentary registration in one of the courses offered by the AANS and NREF in 2020.

The registration will include free attendance at the course, accommodation and meals. Travel costs are not included.

Due to space restrictions at courses offered by the NREF, no more than two residents selected by EANS may attend a single AANS/NREF course.

In order to apply, please submit the application form by :

  • 25 January 2020 for the NREF Spinal Deformity for Residents Course in Phoenix, Arizona
  • 28 February 2020 for the rest of the Courses

Criteria of eligibility:

  • EANS Individual membership
  • Application from Europe
  • Resident in Neurosurgery, in the 3rd or higher year
  • Good academic status
  • Involvement with EANS
  • Knowledge of English

Please submit the completed form together with the following required documents:

  • Short CV (max. 2 pages A4).
  • Personal statement stating why and how the 2020NREP would be of benefit to the applicant at this career-point.
  • Recommendation letter from Chairman/Residency/Programme director of home institution, specifying why the proposed 2020NREP will be of benefit to the applicant.
