WELCOME TO THE EANS TASK FORCE FOR EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATIONS IN NEUROSURGERY (ETIN Task Force)
Neurosurgery has always been a high-tech specialty that has implemented the latest technological and scientific advancements to achieve better results in the challenging treatment of neurosurgical diseases.
The digital revolution in the last decades is a fact and exponential growth of new techniques and technologies expose modern neurosurgeons to the need of acquiring appropriate knowledge of nonsurgical items and of interacting more than ever
with experts in the field of medical engineering, research and development, robotization, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), entrepreneurship and many others.
Our mission:
To investigate, promote and stimulate the advancement and implementation of new, emerging technologies and innovations in neurosurgery.
To help neurosurgeons to stay at the upfront and remain leaders in the creative process of development
of new devices and technologies, and their introduction in the everyday neurosurgical practice
Our tools:
We want to bring together the different stakeholders – neurosurgeons, engineers, scientists, AI and VR specialists, entrepreneurs with the objective to spread the state-of-the-art achievements, to accelerate the innovations and finally – to
improve the care we give to our patients through new technologies and technological innovations.
We shall organize interdisciplinary meetings, discussion groups, round tables, seminars, webinars and any other form of exchange of knowledge regarding the emerging and new technologies in neurosurgery, bringing on the same table experts in
different field of knowledge.
We shall promote and develop new ideas, strategies, technological concepts and advancements.
Key words:
Robotics, image guidance and navigation, artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), 3D printed technology, endoscopy, emerging technologies, technological innovations in Neurosurgery.
The EANS ETIN Task Force is glad to participate at the ‘Spine and Friends’ meeting taking place in Naples between 11 & 12 May.
As part of the meeting scientific programme, the ETIN Task Force Founding members will be supporting and directly contributing to the session on New technologies applied to spinal tumors surgery followed by a presentation of the ETIN Task Force.
