Florian Ringel
Chair, Section of Spinal Neurosurgery
Florian Ringel is Full Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Mainz. Prior to that position he was trained at the University of Bonn from 2001 to 2006. From 2006 on he worked as staff neurosurgeon at the Neurosurgical Department of the Technical University of Munich before getting appointed to the University of Mainz in 2016. During that time he developed a strong interest in basic and complex spine surgery.
His clinical activity focuses on spine surgery, neurooncology and neurovascular surgery. His research activity is focused on techniques in spine surgery, function preservation in neurooncology and glioma treatment
He co-authored over 250 peer-reviewed articles and is reviewer for several international journals.
He is an active member of the EANS since many years contributing to the Young Neurosurgeons Committee, the Research Committee and the Spine Section.
