Nicolaos Foroglou, MD, PhD received his Diploma of Medicine from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 1993, his Ph.D. degree in 2000 from the same University and his professional license of Neurosurgery in 2001 from the Greek Authorities.
He successfully completed the EANS Training Courses in 2001 (Amsterdam) and has been a research fellow in Neuro-oncology in 2001-2002 at Brigham&Women’s Hospital, Boston. He worked as Chef-de-Clinique Adjoint at the University Hospital
of Lausanne (Switzerland) in 2002-2003 and then he joined the Academic Staff in the Department of Neurosurgery, AHEPA University Hospital, Thessaloniki. He is currently appointed as Associate Professor of Neurosurgery, Aristotle University
of Thessaloniki. His clinical and research interests focus on Neuro-Oncology and Functional Neurosurgery and current research projects include brain mapping, drug delivery in brain tissue, physical properties of glioma and intraoperative
detection of cancer cells. He has authored 6 chapters in international editions, published 28 papers in peer reviewed international journals, presented 45 peer review studies in international conferences and being invited as lecturer
in 25 international neurosurgical congress. He is active member of many international scientific societies (EANS, AANS, EANO, ELGGN) and currently serving as President of the Hellenic Neurosurgical Society.
