Dr Radoslaw Rola graduated from Lublin University (Poland) School of Medicine in 1997 and directly joined the PhD program at the Department of Pathophysiology of Lublin University School of Medicine from 1997 to 2002 when he defended his PhD thesis. Subsequently he was enrolled in the neurosurgical training program at the Department of Neurosurgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery at Lublin University School of Medicine from which he graduated with honors (1st position in Poland on Board Certification Exams). Concomitantly, he completed fellowships at the Division of Neurosurgery, Centre Hospitalier RĂ©gional Universitaire de Lille (France) and Department of Neurosurgery, University of California, San Francisco (USA).

He began his clinical work in 2007 at the Department of Neurosurgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery at Lublin University School of Medicine with a general neurosurgical practice and a special interest in the management of brain tumors and a research interest in brain tumors and implementation of ultrahigh-field MRI techniques in neurosurgery.

Dr Rola currently serves as an executive board member of the Polish Neurosurgical Society, Chair of the Section of Neurooncology of the Polish Neurosurgical Society, Chair of a Membership Committee of the Polish Neurosurgical Society and an Associate Editor of the Neurosurgery Section of the Polish Neurology and Neurosurgery Journal. He also serves on the editorial or advisory board of several journals, such as Radiation Research, Acta Neuropathologica, Radiotherapy and Oncology, European Journal of Neuroscience and others. He has been a member of the EANS Research Committee since 2009 and recently has been appointed as a Polish delegate to UEMS Section of Neurosurgery.
