EANS Hands-On Course - Lyon
The first course took place in June 2012 and it was very successful. Since then two courses per year have been organised, normally one in January and one in June.
Course dates: 13 - 17 January 2020
Programme: The preliminary programme is now available.
Venue: Département Universitaire d'Anatomie, Faculté de Médecine Lyon Est, 8 avenue Rockefeller, 69373 Lyon Cedex 08
Target audience: The course is particularly appropriate for those at the level of the third year of the EANS Training Course. Recently qualified neurosurgeons, those still in training, and anyone else looking to refine their skills will learn a great deal from the course.
THE COURSE IS FULL.
Pre-registration is still open for the June's session. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to pre-register for this course.
The registration fee includes all tuition costs, subsistence during the course (coffee breaks and lunches) and the hotel accommodation (check-in on the 13th of January, check out on the 17th of January).
The capacity of the course is 20 participants, which allows a ratio of two participants per cadaver. The programme comprises most classic cranial approaches, endoscopic and microsurgical techniques for neurosurgery.
There are approximately 10 faculty members, roughly half of whom are regular EANS faculty. The rest are expert local teachers, with considerable experience of teaching on similar cadaver courses.
We believe that Lyon is an excellent venue for our Hands-On course. The University Hospital has considerable experience and expertise in this field, and the city is easily accessible by both air and rail.
Four nights' accommodation is included in the course fee, and will be booked by the EANS on your behalf. The address of the hotel is:
Lagrange City Apparthotel

"This hands on course is amazing; very informative and practical; every resident should attend at least one in their training period."
"Great organizers and lecturers, amazing lab structure, nice hotel and the best experience exchange with fellow residents you can get. Just do it."
"The course was fantastic, and was of high standard. If you can maintain this standard with such a relatively low cost, and remarkable cost - benefit ratio, your course will always be one of the best among hands on courses. I fully agree with your policy: preferring cheaper accommodation to more expensive course content."
The registration fee includes all tuition costs, subsistence during the course (coffee breaks and lunches) and four nights' hotel accommodation (check-in on the 13th of January, check out on the 17th of January), which will be booked by the EANS on your behalf.

The programme comprises most classic cranial approaches, endoscopic and microsurgical techniques for neurosurgery. The emphasis is very much on practical skills, but with an excellent foundation of theory to support this. Participants are given reference sheets for the practical sessions, and the faculty: participant ratio means that help and advice is always at hand.
All faculty have extensive teaching experience, particularly with regard to cadaver courses. As is the standard for EANS courses, approximately half of the faculty are EANS teachers, which means they undergo regular appraisals to ensure the quality of our provision.View the preliminary programme
